On 11 March 2024, the Philippine Embassy in Cairo sent off a batch of eleven (11) Filipino seafarers who were onboard M/V True Confidence, a bulk carrier hit by Houthi missile on 06 March 2024.
The Philippine Government once again expresses appreciation to the Djibouti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Health and the Djibouti Ports Authority through the Harbor Master's Office, for their joint efforts in the rescue operation and the various assistance extended to the Filipinos while in Djibouti.
