20 August 2026 - The Philippine Embassy in Egypt continued its Buwan ng Wika 2026 celebration through a series of activities that highlight the richness of Filipino language, culture, heritage, and identity through dance and art.

On 18 and 20 August 2026, the Embassy conducted art activities including making fans, assembling NCCA paper crafts of Philippine landmarks, and coloring of popular Philippine symbols. Ms. Sohaila-Amerol Alonto, Cultural Officer, facilitated the activities which were attended by second generation Filipinos and Filipino-Egyptians. Before each activity, Ms. Amerol-Alonto led a discussion on the Philippine landmarks and symbols and their connection to Filipino artistry and cultural heritage. Through their artworks, participants expressed their appreciation of the diverse aspects that shape Filipino identity.

The creativity and talent of the participants will be further highlighted on 31 August 2026 during a special Buwan ng Wika Art Exhibit open to the public. In addition, there will be a Tinikling performance by participants of the previous weeks' Tinikling workshop. The performance will showcase not only the participants’ newly developed skills but also the beauty and dynamism of one of the Philippines’ most beloved traditional dances.

From visual art to traditional dance, this year’s celebration brings Filipino culture to life through the creativity, participation, and enthusiasm of the community.
