The Philippine Embassy in Cairo informs Filipino workers employed in Egyptโs private sectors of Egyptโs new Labor Law No. 14 of 2025 particularly on provisions governing employment contracts, work permits, leave entitlements, minimum wage, termination, and compensation. The new law will take effect on ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐.
Labor Law No. 14 of 2025 ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ (๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐) ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐๐ซ๐ฌ, and there are ๐ง๐จ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ being issued to foreigners who wish to work as household workers (or kasambahay) in Egypt.
The Embassy also reminds Filipino workers in Egypt who possess valid work permits to:
1. Review your employment contract and ensure that it complies with the new law;
2. Confirm your work permit status and validity;
3. Always be in possession of valid IDs/passports and residence cards, while getting around the country; and
4. Cooperate with authorities when asked to show passport/ID and residence card.
