AMBASSADOR AVIQUIVIL MEETS BIBLIOTHECA ALEXANDRINA DIRECTOR, EXPLORES POSSIBLE CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION

20 August 2026 - Ambassador Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil met with Professor Ahmed A. Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Library) to discuss potential areas of cooperation, particularly in the fields of education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

During the meeting, Amb. Aviquivil highlighted the potential for the Library to serve as a venue for educational and cultural activities that could benefit Filipino students in Egypt. She also paid a courtesy visit to the bust of Jose Rizal which was donated by the Embassy in 2015.

Amb. Aviquivil expressed appreciation to the Library for its openness to exploring initiatives that could strengthen educational and cultural exchanges and provide meaningful opportunities for Filipino students and the Filipino community in Egypt. END.
