Sentro Rizal-Egypt: A Hub for Language and Cultural Exchanges

By weaving together history, traditions, and language, the center has created a vibrant space where Filipino-Egyptian youth, local communities, and international partners can connect deeply. Through its dynamic cultural and Buwan ng Wika/ Buwan ng Kasaysayan activities, the Sentro Rizal continues to foster a beautiful, shared global community right here in Cairo.

The center aims to help Filipino diaspora rediscover their rich heritage and language. Among the notable initiatives include the 2018 Project Saysay exhibition featuring inspirational quotes from Philippine historical figures. In 2025, a Baybayin script workshop with Mr. George Ian “Taipan” Lucero was held introducing the Filipino writing system to the Filipino community and Egyptian locals. This year, a collaborative Arabic-Baybayin art workshop was conducted, uniting two beautiful scripts within a single creative space. Participants discovered a unique common ground, proving that art and language can effortlessly transcend cultures.
