The Philippine Embassy in Egypt informs the public that the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines has launched the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority Electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) intended for use in countries that are Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.
In view of this development, the public is advised of the following:
1. Egypt, Djibouti, Sudan and Eritrea are Non-Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.
2. For documents intended for use in Egypt, Djibouti, Sudan and Eritrea, the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines will issue a paper-based Certificate of Authentication for PSA eCertificates and CHED eCAVs.
3. After the issuance of the Certificate of Authentication by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, the document has to be submitted to their respective Embassies in the Philippines for legalization process.
Applicants are advised to verify the specific requirements of the receiving authority in Egypt, Djibouti, Sudan and Eritrea prior to the submission of their documents.
