PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN EGYPT CONVENES TOWN HALL MEETING WITH THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN EGYPT

21 June 2025-The Philippine Embassy held a town hall meeting with the Filipino community in Egypt to share Embassy updates. Members of the Filipino community provided entertainment during the event.
Ms. Crystal Ann S. Dunuan, Second Secretary and Consul, delivered the opening remarks thanking the attendees for their participation.
The Independence Day video messages of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo were also played.
Philippine Ambassador to Egypt, Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago briefed the attendees on the regional situation. He also highlighted the need to be prepared and encouraged the Filipino community to update/register their details with the Embassy.
Thereafter, Mr. Bryan B. Fernandez, Third Secretary and Vice Consul, briefed the attendees on updates on the Embassy’s services. He discussed the new Philippine passport law, new Egyptian labor law and delivered a report on the 2025 overseas voting. According to Vice Consul Fernandez, 314 voted out of the 1,931 registered voters in Egypt, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Sudan. Meanwhile, there are 2,329 registered Filipinos in Egypt who responded to the Embassy’s online registration system.
