The Philippine Embassy in Egypt warmly welcomes Her Excellency Ms. Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil as Ambassador designate of the Republic of the Philippines to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
A seasoned career diplomat, Ambassador Aviquivil has served in key roles at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) both in the Home Office and abroad. Most recently, she was Consul General at the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney, Australia.
Her foreign service assignments include Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General at the Philippine Embassy in Oslo, Norway; First Secretary and Consul, later promoted to Consul General, at the Philippine Embassy in Athens, Greece; Second Secretary and Consul at the Philippine Embassy in Cairo, Egypt; and Consul at the Philippine Consulate in Agana, Guam.
At the DFA, she held positions as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of Planning and Coordination; Director of the Office of Middle East and African Affairs; and Principal Assistant at the Office of United Nations and Other International Organizations and in the Public Information Services Unit.
The Embassy looks forward to her leadership in strengthening bilateral ties and advancing the welfare of Filipinos under its jurisdiction.
