PH Embassy in Egypt celebrates Mother’s day with tribute to mothers, Walk-In Consular & Overseas Voting Services, and Civil Registration Talk

On Friday, 08 May 2026, the Philippine Embassy successfully conducted a special event combining public service, information awareness, and a heartfelt Mother’s Day celebration for the Filipino community in Egypt.

In the morning, the Embassy welcomed walk-in applicants for the processing of Report of Birth (ROB) applications and Overseas Voting Registration, providing essential consular services to Filipinos residing in Egypt.

In the afternoon, an informative lecture on the importance of filing the Report of Birth both in Egypt and in the Philippines was conducted. During her opening remarks, Chargé d'affaires, Ms. Crystal Ann Dunuan emphasized the significance of timely birth registration to ensure the proper documentation, recognition, and protection of the rights and citizenship of Filipino children born abroad.

Thereafter, Atty. Makarios Alkes Antonios Girgs Alabd discussed Egyptian laws on the registration of foreign nationals, including the required documentation and mandatory reporting deadlines that Filipino parents must comply with when registering the birth of their children in Egypt.

Vice Consul Bryan B. Fernandez likewise discussed the Philippine laws and legal basis governing the Report of Birth, highlighting the importance of reporting the birth of Filipino children to the Philippine Embassy to secure their Philippine citizenship and facilitate future access to Philippine government services and documents.

Following the lecture, the Embassy held a simple yet meaningful Mother’s Day appreciation celebration to honor all mothers in attendance. Flowers and light food treats were distributed as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation for their love, sacrifice, and dedication to their families.
