CAIRO, 04 March 2026 – Representatives of the Philippine Embassy in Egypt assisted five (5) Filipino tourists stranded in Israel who crossed the Taba Border Crossing which lies between Egypt and Israel.

The five availed of the buses provided by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism to bring tourists to the Israel-Egypt land border. Once they entered the Egyptian Immigration Arrival area, they were greeted by a team from the Philippine Embassy including Consul Crystal Ann S. Dunuan and Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Mr. John Michael M. Barreno. The Embassy team then facilitated the processing of their immigration documents into Egypt.

The Embassy also provided the Filipino tourists temporary accommodations in Cairo and continues to coordinate with them regarding their return to the Philippines. END.
