On 08 March 2024, the Embassy team composed of Vice Consul Bojer Capati and ATN Officer Camaloden Guro went to Djibouti and assisted thirteen (13) Filipino seafarers onboard M/V True Confidence, a Barbados-flagged, Liberian-owned bulk carrier hit by Houthi missile on 06 March 2024 in the Gulf of Aden, about 70 nautical miles off the coast of Djibouti.
Three of the thirteen Filipino seafarers were injured and were hospitalized at the Hospital General Peltier, Djibouti. On 09 March 2024, Vice Consul Capati and Mr. Guro were able to visit them, thanks to the assistance of officials from the Djibouti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. One of the injured will be discharged from the hospital soon, while the other two will continue to receive treatment until they are fit to travel. END.
