20 October 2026 - Ambassador Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil received Hotel101 Global Founder, Mr. Edgar “Injap” Sia II, at the Philippine Embassy on his recent visit to Cairo. During the call, Mr. Sia provided a brief overview of Hotel 101 and informed the Embassy that the company will be expanding its operations globally, including in Egypt.

Amb. Aviquivil was invited to the signing ceremony of the joint venture agreement between Hotel 101 Global Holdings Corp. and Egyptian company IGI Holdings. The two companies plan on building Hotel 101-Cairo West in the 6th of October City, located around ten minutes from the Giza Pyramids.

With an estimated project value of 102.09 million USD, the hotel’s projected completion date is in 2029. It is expected  to be one of the top 3 largest hotels in Cairo in terms of room capacity.

The Philippine Embassy welcomes the expansion of Philippine enterprises into international markets, and is confident that the first foray of homegrown Filipino brand Hotel101 into Africa will be a catalyst for more Philippine investments in Egypt, and for greater Egyptian investment in the Philippines.
