First batch of forty (40) Filipinos crossed the Rafah Border from Gaza, Palestine into Egypt

On 07 November 2023 the first batch of forty (40) Filipinos crossed the Rafah Border from Gaza, Palestine into Egypt.

A team from the Philippine Embassy in Cairo, led by Amb. Ezzedin Tago, assisted the group by providing travel documents and ensuring the issuance of their temporary entry visas. Once in the Egyptian side of the border, they boarded the Embassy bus heading straight to Cairo. After some much-needed rest and medical check-up, the first batch will fly to the Philippines.

The Philippine Embassy acknowledges with appreciation the support of the Egyptian Government in facilitating the entry of the Filipinos into Egypt. The successful operation was also arranged with the cooperation of the Philippine Embassies in Amman, Jordan and in Tel Aviv, Israel.

An Embassy team, led by Vice Consul Bojer Capati, remains near the Rafah Border ready to receive and assist more Filipinos and their families, in coordination with the concerned Egyptian offices and Philippine Embassies. END
