01 July 2026 – On 01 July 2026, Ambassador Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil presented the letters of credence and recall of her predecessor to His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Al-Ittihadiya Palace (Presidential Palace) in Heliopolis, Cairo.
Ambassador Aviquivil is the second female Philippine Ambassador to Egypt. She was also previously assigned as Second Secretary and Consul at the Philippine Embassy in Cairo from 2005 to 2008.
During a brief moment with the President, Ambassador Aviquivil expressed her commitment to deepen cooperation and strengthen the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Egypt.
A statement released by the Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the President affirmed Egypt’s keenness on advancing and developing all aspects of bilateral cooperation with the countries represented during the ceremony.
Ambassador Aviquivil was among the seventeen (17) new Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Non-Resident Ambassadors that presented their credentials to the Egyptian President.
