AMBASSADOR AVIQUIVIL MEETS WITH IOM EGYPT CHIEF OF MISSION

30 July 2026 – Ambassador Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil met with Mr. Carlos Oliver Cruz, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Egypt, at the IOM Office in Cairo to discuss migration issues of mutual interest and explore opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the Philippine Embassy and IOM Egypt.


Amb. Aviquivil conveyed her appreciation for IOM Egypt’s continued assistance to Filipino nationals who have encountered migration-related concerns. She thanked IOM Egypt for its valuable partnership with the Philippine Embassy in implementing initiatives that promote safe, orderly, and regular migration.


Mr. Cruz reaffirmed IOM Egypt’s commitment to maintaining its close partnership with the Embassy in supporting efforts that promote the protection, dignity, and well-being of migrants.


The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on migration trends and explore areas for enhanced collaboration in migrant protection and capacity-building. END
