AMB. AVIQUIVIL ATTENDS 285th ASEAN COMMITTEE MEETING

25 June 2026 - Ambassador Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquvil attended the 285th ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC) Meeting at the Triumph Luxury Hotel, New Cairo. The meeting was also attended by the other Heads of Missions (HOM) of the eight (8) ASEAN states represented in Egypt- Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.

During the meeting, the ACC HOMs shared bilateral activities conducted by their respective missions. They also discussed the Committee’s program for the second half of 2026. Thereafter, the ACC Chairmanship position was turned over from Thailand to the Philippines represented by Amb. Aviquivil. The Philippines will serve as Chairperson of the ACC from July to December 2026.

The ACC looked forward to more activities that will enhance the bilateral as well as the regional group’s relations with Egypt, and events that would further bring the ASEAN community in Egypt closer together.
