The Philippine Embassy in Egypt reminds all Filipino workers in Egypt or aspiring to come to Egypt for work to be vigilant against third-country recruitment schemes (offer of employment in another country but the actual work is in Egypt) without proper legal documentation and accreditation.

Further, OFWs are advised of the following:

• Only apply for jobs through Department of Migrant Workers

(DMW) accredited agencies.

• Do not accept job offers or sign contracts without legal

work permits, visas, and valid employer documentation.

Each contract should comply with the required terms and

conditions as well as the minimum salary set by the DMW.

• Be cautious of recruiters promising easy placements or

work in Egypt without proper permits, as these are illegal

and put you at risk of exploitation, detention, or deportation.

• Immediately report to the Embassy or the DMW any

suspicious recruitment activity or offers claiming to provide

jobs in Egypt without government authorization.

The Embassy joins the relevant Egyptian authorities in reminding all Filipinos in Egypt:

1. All foreign workers in Egypt must obtain valid work permits and

licenses from the Ministry of Manpower and its affiliated offices.

2. Always be in possession of valid IDs/passports and residence

cards, while getting around the country.

3. Cooperate with authorities when asked to show passport/ID and

residence card.

4. The Philippine passport is the property of the Philippine

Government. Your employer and/or sponsor should not keep your

passport for any reason. It should be with you at all times and

available when required by the authorities or by the Embassy.
