PUBLIC ADVISORY FOR FILIPINOS IN SUDAN

The Philippine Embassy in Cairo strongly reiterates its advice to all
Filipinos in Sudan to leave the country at the earliest opportunity to ensure
their safety.
The Philippine Government also reiterates that it continues to assist
Filipinos who wish to evacuate Sudan.
If you wish to be return to the Philippines, please provide the Embassy
your full name, contact number, and copy of passport. Kindly advise if you
are in possession of a valid passport or not and state the reason for not
having your passport in your possession.
Evacuation through Egypt/Aswan. Filipinos who choose to proceed to
Egypt should comply with the standing order of applying entry visas in
advance.
1. Applicants should apply for entry visas at the Egyptian Consulate in
Wadi Halfa, and comply with Egypt’s regulations and requirements on
visa application.
2. Filipino applicants will need to obtain Egyptian security clearance as
requirement of visa application. As per the advice of the Egyptian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such requests should be coursed through
the Philippine Embassy in Cairo, and are usually approved after ten
(10) days minimum.
3. Requesting individuals will need to stay where they are and will not
be allowed entry into Egyptian territory until the approval for their
entry has been received.
4. Applicants must also note that those given this temporary entry must
depart Egypt at the earliest opportunity. The Embassy will make
those arrangements for repatriation.
Evacuation through Port Sudan. Filipinos who choose to evacuate through
Port Sudan should likewise inform the Embassy in advance.
Make sure that have sufficient cash with you (to cover costs of your food,
water and accommodation) as the wait in both Wadi Halfa and Port Sudan
will take on average ten (10) days or more.
If you decide to stay in Sudan:
1. Provide the Embassy your full name, contact details, location in
Sudan, as well as the name and contact details of emergency
contact(s) in the Philippines; and
2. Be in possession of your valid passport.
